Xinang Lei is a pianist currently studying at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), where she works with Professor Sharon Mann. She has developed a distinctive artistic voice supported by solid and reliable technique. Her playing is often praised for its musical sensitivity, strong instincts, and careful attention to detail. Xinang has received several awards in national and international piano competitions. She won First Prize in the Junior A Group of the 10th Chopin Junior International Piano Competition (China Region) in 2016, and First Prize in the Professional Junior Group of the 2nd Shaanxi Society Cup “High Sky” Piano Competition In 2019. In addition to performing, she is very passionate about teaching and working with other musicians. She enjoys helping students build a strong foundation from the very beginning. In her lessons, she focuses on basic technique, good practice habits, and musical understanding, while also encouraging students to stay curious and confident as they learn. She adapts her teaching to each student’s personality and learning pace, making lessons engaging and supportive. She often helps students with practice organization, repertoire choices, and preparation for small performances, so they can feel more comfortable and confident playing in front of others.

Youmei Xia, our talented piano instructor at Summit Music Academy, brings a rich background of musical excellence and dedication. She began her musical journey at the age of 4 with the electronic organ and transitioned to piano at age 7. At 17, she was admitted to the prestigious Wuhan Conservatory of Music, where she studied under Professor Tan Xiao and earned numerous honors, including the Best Performance Award in the Jingchu Piano Chamber Music Final and multiple academic scholarships. As a natural leader, she also served as president of the Piano Department Student Union. Since her second year of undergraduate studies, Youmei has been a part-time piano teacher, with experience ranging from early childhood music education to exam preparation and adult piano instruction. Her students and their families consistently praise her for her engaging teaching style, patience, and ability to inspire a love for music. In 2024, she continued her studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under renowned pianist Professor Awadagin Pratt, while also receiving mentorship in chamber music and collaborative piano. Her passion, experience, and artistry make her a truly inspiring educator for students of all levels.
