With its six strings and wide range of tones, the guitar can be used for melody, harmony, and rhythm, making it a great instrument for both solo playing and group performances. At Summit Music Academy, our guitar private lessons are designed to provide personalized instruction based on each student’s age, experience, and musical interests. Through one-on-one lessons, students will learn essential techniques, music reading, rhythm, and song playing while developing strong musical foundations and confidence.
Bo Yu is a dedicated musician, songwriter, and music producer with over 20 years of teaching and performance experience. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Guangxi Arts School and a Senior High School Music Teacher Certification. Since beginning his professional teaching career in 2007, he has taught at well-known institutions including Zhou Guangren Piano Art School in Shenzhen and later served as Senior Piano Teacher at Tianzhiyin Culture & Arts Co., Ltd., where his students won national and international awards. In 2015, he founded Original Music Studio, focusing on piano education and original music production, and has remained active in both performance and music direction roles, including serving as Music Director for large-scale concerts and live events. After moving to the United States in 2020 to continue his studies under pianist and organist Michael Burroughs, he continues to teach and serve in church music ministry. His students consistently achieve a 100% ABRSM examination pass rate, reflecting his strong commitment to excellence and student success.
